ARTISANAL MASKED BOTANICAL BUTTER 🧈🌿✨

A ultra-clean, professionally balanced infused butter designed with aromatic bridges to neutralize herbal bitterness while maintaining full potency.

RECIPE INFO:

Category: Gourmet Infusion / Base Ingredient

Difficulty: Medium

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Infusion Time: 4 hours

Total Time: 4 hours 20 minutes

Yield: Approximately 3/4 cup clarified butter

THC per serving: Approximately 10mg per tsp (based on 20% THC flower)

TERPENE PAIRING:

This recipe is designed to neutralize flavor, but it pairs exceptionally well with strains high in Caryophyllene or Linalool. The spicy and floral notes of these terpenes are easily integrated into the aromatic bridge of vanilla and coriander.

DOSAGE INFORMATION:

Based on 7 grams of 20% THC flower, the total batch contains approximately 1,400mg THC. One teaspoon provides a potent 10mg dose. Always measure with precision to ensure a gourmet experience.

PLEASE CONSUME RESPONSIBLY AND START LOW, GO SLOW!

Keep out of reach of children and pets. This butter is highly potent and the lack of herbal flavor can make it easy to over-consume. Do not drive or operate machinery.

INGREDIENTS:

 * 7 grams high-quality cannabis flower

 * 1 cup unsalted European-style grass-fed butter

 * 1 whole Madagascar vanilla bean, split and scraped

 * 1 tsp toasted coriander seeds

 * 1 small piece star anise

 * 1 cup filtered water (for the infusion bath)

 * 1/4 tsp sunflower lecithin

 * 1 pinch sea salt

DECARBOXYLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

 * Preheat oven to 240°F.

 * Break the cannabis flower into medium-sized pieces to prevent over-toasting.

 * Spread evenly on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

 * Bake for 40 minutes until it achieves a consistent golden-brown hue.

 * Allow to cool completely before the water-wash step.

INFUSION INSTRUCTIONS:

 * Place the cooled, decarboxylated flower in a fine-mesh tea ball or cheesecloth sachet.

 * Submerge in ice-cold filtered water for 10 minutes, then gently pat dry. This is the "cold-wash" to remove surface chlorophyll.

 * In a double boiler, combine the butter, 1 cup of filtered water, the washed flower, vanilla bean (pod and seeds), coriander, and star anise.

 * Maintain a temperature between 160°F and 170°F for 4 hours.

 * Stir gently every 30 minutes to ensure even heat distribution.

 * During the final 15 minutes, whisk in the sunflower lecithin to maximize bioavailability.

PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS:

 * Prepare a bowl with a double layer of cheesecloth or a high-density coffee filter.

 * Strain the hot mixture into the bowl, squeezing the sachet gently to recover all lipids.

 * Place the bowl in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours until the butter has solidified into a puck on top of the water.

 * Carefully lift the butter puck from the water and discard the remaining liquid (which now holds the bitter impurities).

 * Scrape the bottom of the butter puck to remove any remaining sediment.

 * Gently melt the butter once more over low heat and pour into a glass storage jar.

 * Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 months or the freezer for 6 months.

CHEF TIPS:

The inclusion of star anise is the "pro-secret" for masking. Anethole, the compound found in anise, is structurally similar to certain botanical terpenes; in very small amounts, it acts as a molecular mask that confuses the bitter receptors on the tongue, making the infusion taste significantly cleaner without adding a dominant licorice flavor.
