DECARBOXYLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

 * Preheat oven to 240°F.

 * Break cannabis flower into small, uniform pieces.

 * Spread in an even layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

 * Bake for 30-40 minutes until the material is a light toasted brown.

 * Cool completely before beginning the butter infusion.

INFUSION INSTRUCTIONS:

 * Melt 1 cup of butter in a double boiler over low heat.

 * Add the decarboxylated cannabis flower to the melted butter.

 * Maintain a temperature between 160°F and 180°F for 3 hours, stirring occasionally.

 * Strain through a fine-mesh sieve and cheesecloth into a glass jar.

 * Measure exactly 1/4 cup of this infused butter for the recipe. Store the rest in the refrigerator.

PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS:

 * Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.

 * In a large heavy-bottomed saucepan over low heat, combine the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and 1/4 cup of infused butter.

 * Stir constantly with a silicone spatula until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is glossy and smooth.

 * Remove from heat immediately to protect the infusion.

 * Stir in the BBQ dry rub, vanilla bean paste, and liquid smoke (if using).

 * Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

 * Sprinkle the smoked sea salt evenly over the top.

 * Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until the fudge is completely firm.

 * Using the parchment overhang, lift the fudge out of the pan and cut into 16 even squares.
