How to Make THC-Infused Buttercream
(the silky, pipeable frosting for cakes, cookies, and midnight spoonfuls)

THC-infused buttercream is the elevated topping upgrade: creamy, stable, and perfect for layering potency into baked goods. American-style (butter + powdered sugar) is easiest for infusion – high fat binds cannabinoids beautifully.

What you need (for ~4 cups frosting @ 600 mg THC total)
- 3.0 g flower @ 22–25 % THC (or 1.5 g good kief/live rosin) → ~600 mg usable THC
- 1½ cups (340 g) unsalted butter (room temp for whipping)
- ½ tsp liquid sunflower lecithin (for even distribution)

Decarboxylation
240 °F for 40 minutes in sealed mason jar → cool fully.

Infusion
All 1½ cups butter + lecithin
Melt gently → add decarbed material → sous-vide 185 °F for 2 hours
Strain hard → chill THC butter to solidify → bring back to room temp before whipping

Buttercream Base
All 600 mg THC butter (room temp, soft)
4–5 cups (480–600 g) powdered sugar (adjust for stiffness)
¼ cup (60 ml) heavy cream or milk
2 tsp vanilla extract (or flavor variations below)
Pinch fine salt

Steps

1. Beat THC butter in stand mixer (paddle) until creamy ~2 minutes.

2. Add powdered sugar 1 cup at a time on low → increase speed to medium once incorporated.

3. Pour in cream/milk + vanilla + salt → whip on high 3–5 minutes until light and fluffy.

4. Adjust: More sugar for stiffer (piping), more cream for softer (spreading).

Flavor variations
- Chocolate: Add ½ cup cocoa powder with sugar.
- Coffee: Dissolve 2 tsp instant espresso in cream.
- Berry: Fold in ¼ cup seedless raspberry jam post-whip.
- Mint: 1 tsp peppermint extract + green coloring.

Storage
Airtight container → room temp 2 days (cool place)
Fridge → 2 weeks (re-whip cold)
Freezer → 3 months (thaw overnight, re-whip)

Dosing examples
- 2 tbsp ≈ 30–40 mg THC (test batch)
- Frost 24 cupcakes = ~25 mg each
- Spoonful straight = instant velvet lift

Results
Velvety smooth, pipes beautiful roses, holds shape, rich buttery mouthfeel with clean canvas for flavors.

Pro tips
- Room temp butter critical – cold lumps, warm separates.
- Live rosin infusion = fastest/cleanest.
- For stronger: Higher input or less sugar volume.
- Color/flavor post-infusion to avoid degrading THC.

This buttercream turns any cake into the main event.
Pipe, spread, devour.
Frosting game elevated.
Whip responsibly.
