How to Store Edibles for Maximum Freshness
(keep them tasting perfect and potent for months, not days)

Freshness = flavor + texture + potency. Screw up storage and you lose all three. Here’s exactly what we do in the pro kitchen so every gummy, cookie, and chocolate tastes like day one even six months later.

Rule 1 – Air is the enemy
Oxygen degrades THC and makes everything stale.
Fix: vacuum-seal or use airtight glass jars with as little headspace as possible.

Rule 2 – Light kills potency
UV turns THC into CBN (sleepy but weaker).
Fix: amber glass, opaque tins, or keep in a dark cupboard. Never clear plastic in sunlight.

Rule 3 – Temperature swings are worse than heat alone
Fridge to counter to fridge creates condensation → mold and soggy edibles.
Fix: pick one temp and stay there.

The perfect storage zones

Room temperature (65–72 °F) – up to 4 weeks
Best for: chocolate bark, hard candies, fudge
Store in: airtight tin inside a dark cupboard
Pro move: add a tiny silica packet

Refrigerator (35–40 °F) – 2–6 months
Best for: gummies, frosted cookies, jello shots, anything with dairy
Store in: airtight glass jar or vacuum bag
Pro move: let gummies “sweat” 30 min at room temp before opening to avoid condensation

Freezer (0 °F or lower) – 6–18 months
Best for: literally everything
Store in: vacuum-sealed bags inside glass jars (double protection)
Pro move: portion into single servings before freezing so you never thaw the whole batch

Specific food rules

Gummies
Fridge 3 months, freezer 12+. Dust lightly with cornstarch before vacuum-sealing to prevent sticking.

Cookies & brownies
Room temp 1 week, fridge 1 month, freezer 6 months. Freeze unfrosted, frost after thawing.

Chocolate bark & truffles
Room temp 2 months in tin, fridge 6 months, freezer 1 year. Temper stays perfect.

Jello shots & drinks
Fridge only, 2–3 weeks max. Do not freeze (texture dies).

Canna-butter/oil
Fridge 6 months, freezer 2+ years. Glass only.

Quick cheat sheet
- Short term (<1 month) → dark cupboard tin
- Medium term → fridge glass jar
- Long term → vacuum-seal → freezer glass jar

Label everything: date made + mg per piece.
Follow these rules and your last edible will taste as good as the first one.
Ignore them and you’ll be eating stale, weak chocolate in two weeks. Your choice.
