INGREDIENTS:

INSTRUCTIONS:

 * In a sturdy cocktail shaker or mixing glass, combine the chopped toasted pecans and maple syrup.

 * Muddle thoroughly for 60 seconds to express the oils from the nuts into the syrup.

 * Add the fresh lemon juice, orange bitters, and the cannabis elixir (20mg total).

 * Add a handful of ice and shake or stir vigorously to chill.

 * Double strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into two rocks glasses filled with fresh ice. This ensures the drink is smooth while retaining the pecan essence.

 * Top each glass with 4 oz of chilled club soda.

 * Stir gently to integrate.

CHEF TIPS:

Toast Your Nuts: Do not skip toasting the pecans. Heating them in a dry pan for 3-5 minutes until fragrant is what creates the "smoky" depth that mimics a dark spirit.

Syrup Quality: Use real maple syrup (Grade A Dark or Amber). Pancake syrup is mostly corn syrup and will lack the complex woody notes needed for this drink.

Texture: If you prefer a thicker, more "old fashioned" style drink, skip the soda water and serve over a single large clear ice cube.
