Strawberry Basil Canna-Lemonade Spritzers

Recipe Info

Yield: 2 Servings

Prep Time: 15 Minutes

Infusion Method: Infused Simple Syrup

Terpene Pairing

Limonene: Abundant in citrus-forward strains like Super Lemon Haze, this terpene heightens the bright lemon acidity and works synergistically with the peppery sweetness of fresh basil to provide an uplifting, energetic effect.

Dosage Information

Standard Dose: 5mg to 10mg THC per serving. This is achieved by adding a precise measurement of your cannabis-infused simple syrup to each individual glass.

Ingredients List

1 cup fresh lemon juice (approximately 4 to 6 lemons)

1/2 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered

6 to 8 fresh basil leaves, plus extra for garnish

2 tablespoons cannabis-infused simple syrup

1 cup chilled sparkling water or club soda

Ice cubes

Optional: Lemon wheels for garnish

Decarboxylation Instructions

Preheat oven to 240°F. Break cannabis flower into small pieces and spread evenly on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes until the flower is light brown and dry to the touch.

Infusion Instructions

In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup water and 1 cup granulated sugar. Add your decarboxylated flower. Simmer on low heat for 20 minutes, ensuring the mixture does not boil. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a glass jar and let cool completely before refrigerating.

Preparation Instructions

 * In a sturdy pitcher or cocktail shaker, combine the fresh strawberries and basil leaves. Muddle thoroughly to release the juices and aromatic oils.

 * Pour in the fresh lemon juice and the cannabis-infused simple syrup. Stir or shake well to combine.

 * Fine-strain the mixture into two tall glasses filled with ice to remove the basil bits and strawberry pulp.

 * Top each glass with 1/2 cup of chilled sparkling water.

 * Stir gently with a long spoon to incorporate the carbonation.

 * Garnish with a fresh basil sprig and a lemon wheel.

Chef Tips

To prevent the basil from turning bitter, muddle it gently rather than shredding it. For a perfectly clear spritzer, double-strain the lemon and strawberry mixture through a tea strainer before adding the sparkling water.
